SE Ridge Kitling Peak

SE Ridge Kitling Peak

The approximate line of the route on the SE Ridge of Kitling Peak. From the notch it is just over 560 feet of vertical to the summit. Traverse to the the gully marked by the obvious tree on its west side. The difficulty of the traverse depends on how much snow there is and if you want to cross it or not. Class 3-4 above the snow as shown. The bottom section of the gully is very enjoyable Class 3-4 scrambling which transitions into a somewhat loose Class 2 ascent to ridge crest. From the top of the gully continue up the ridge crest on fun Class 3 rock to the final slopes which are stable Class 2 talus. Photo and graphics by Fred Spicker July 2014
