This was an awesome scramble. So many horrible routes though. I wish people weren't so eager to set up cairns where they shouldn't be.
First time up this peak, Sept. 19, 1996 with Ian Hunt. Been up a few more times back in the 1990's. Incredible summit views.
A nice easy hike with spectacular views. You hate to come down from this little peak. The last hundred feet to the summit was a nice little balancing walk on a sharp loose ridge, and a little exposure swinging out over a ledge just below the summit, but could have avoided that.
essentially a trail for the first 2/3 of the ridge. the last 1/3 requires traversing class 2ish rock-bands until the summit ridge is gained. good views from summit.
A great Alpine Club Trip late in the spring. The scramble had a real alpine feel with all of the snow.
Everything people said it was. Awesome views towards the icefield, but also awesome views of Wilcox Pass! It's boggling to imagine the size of the glacier that once carved out the pass.
