This Time With Snow
We (two of us) started from the end of the road near Wagon Canyon, taking the wash. We started running into snow around 6000'. By the time we were at the back of the canyon at approximately 8300' the snow was pervasive and often deep. From here to the summit ridge snow cover was 100%. The summit ridge had patchy snow and had areas where the snow had blown clear and/or melted. We took the ridge back down, as it was mostly snow free. Last one up there was in April, and before that over a year before.
Up Wagon Canyon to the saddle, then an easy walk to the summit. Still some patches of snow, but not an obstacle. Then down the ridge and out. With a party from LVMC.

Hayford approach
Turned around due to a few factors...mainly motivation to do bushwacking that day.

Sheep Peak
Great hike with great panoramic views. Beat being in NASCAR traffic in Vegas.

Up via Wagon Canyon, down via the ridge

Pine Nut Camp
From Pine Nut Camp on the east side of the mountain. Nice, scenic route. Cold and snowy.

Two times we took the Wagon Canyon wash up, the ridge (S of the wash) down. The wash is a bit trickier than you might suppose; many branches come in. Always take the main branch (often hard to distinguish, when pinyons obscure the path) UNTIL ~8300', when you will bear right.
Also went from Pine Nut 10/11/09 10/18/09. This route has about 1000' less elevation gain, but is nowhere as pretty, and has a long dirt-road drive. One time came down over the next peak N (9678), one time came down the gully between Sheep and 9678. The gully has an awesome dryfall in quartzite.
I think this peak via Wagon is much nicer than Hayford.
