Eclipse!
Had the summit to ourselves for the total eclipse! Absolutely stunning! Climbed via Antelope Pass / Lupine Peak.

Antelope pass
Halfway through the hike we noticed we were entering a labyrinth of 4x4 trails, likely used by hunters. With a sturdy off-road vehicle you could drive within a mile of the summit. I love hiking, but to me finding an efficient way to the top is part of the game. If I were to do it again I'd drive up there and use the extra time and energy to hit more peaks! You can see these roads by zooming all the way in on google's satellite view.
The summit register shows an average of one party per year despite Shelly being a range highpoint, prominence peak and the 47th highest in the state. Classic Idaho!

Great Climb
I couldn't believe the view from the top! What a gorgeous day! Shelly was my first peak of the day and I was able to knock off the other 3 11ers in the White Knobs later in the day.
