Sherwin Island Crags

Sherwin Island Crags

A bare, sharp peak in Maryland? No, just a pretty quarzite outcrop next to the river on Sherwin Island. But the right lens and the right angle can make a tor out of a boulder! At just a few feet taller than most people, this crag doesn't even make for good bouldering, but the quartzite gleams in the sun and lets one crouch and pretend he is gazing at some jagged pinnacle in an exotic land.
