Sierra Wallflower, Erysimum capitatum

Sierra Wallflower, Erysimum capitatum

This fragrant wildflower occurs at a wide range of altitude and can be seen throughout the entire Sierra Nevada range. It grows as a three-foot-tall plant at lake level in the Tahoe Basin. With the short growing season above timberline it can be less than a foot tall. Photo taken June 11, 2007 in the Cold Creek drainage, Carson Range.
