Sinister find on the Ushba glacier

Sinister find on the Ushba glacier. In the upper part of glacier at the base of South Ushba face our group discovered the hip of gear - the trace of some tragedy of 20-30 years ago. No records of resque nor disappeared climbers for that period. Rope, crampones, boots, tent... their story is concealed somewhere in nearby crevasses...

100 meters from that heap we found rope and one boot with crampone attched to it. What could happen there?

I remember, it was around 5 years ago,a tragic accident of Polish climbers on the glacier below Ushba, a few of them fell into crevass and haven't been rescued on time...those were not very experienced ones and it was some private company undertaking after which huge wave of criticism on so called "partnership expeditions" rolled along Polish media. Truly sad story...

Yes, it was North Side accident, in Ushba icefall, the relative got contacted me, but anyhow too late. That story has no connection with this picture which was taken on the South glacier.
