Overview
Siung Rock is limestone cliff formation located at Siung Beach Yogyakarta, Indonesia. There are more than 25 sport climbing routes available here, with various grade from 5.9 to 5.12. Climbing route separated at several cliffs which'r marked block A till K and connected by path from one cliff to others.The last block (K) is special cliff formation for artificial climbing.Most routes created in year of 2000, 2001, 2003.Getting There
The best way to get there is by private car from Yogyakarta, drive to Wonosari, Gunung Kidul regency. From here, its took 1 hour more to beach siung where the Siung Rock Area is located. Other option is by public bus from Yogyakarta heads for bus station of Wonosari, then from here transfer by local transport (van) heads for Siung beach, stop at T-intersection regency road and then walk approx +- 4 km or by local ojek heads for suing beach.
Red Tape
Siung beach is touristic area, there is no special permit is required to climb the rock. However...entrance / retribution fee is required at check-post / entrance gate of Siung. Contacting local climbing federation is suggested.Camping
Climber's hut / shelter is available at Siung, at corner of parking area.Camping ground / camp site outside climbing zone also available.
