humm!

Great page, with informative pictures ! on your flights did you look at the mountains from the plane?
by the way have you the google map software installed on your computer? it's great I could even find the roof of my house and my car parked in the front... I compared the alamkooh's numbers with the exact point on the ridgeline with the softwares, the numbers(your numbers) where exact for Abak and Siyalan but seem to be a few hundred meters norther for Alamkooh and shakhak, so I corected the alamkooh page with (lat=36.3753601001, lon=50.961277964).

Re: humm!

Thanks, My flights always arrived in Tehran at 12 midnight and left at 2 or 3 a.m. I could see the lights of Mt. Tochal and Dashteh (the mountain above Karaj). The lights of Tehran's freeways and the Tehran-Karaj-Qazvin freeway were well visible too.

Google Earth is great. I will even send you the diagrams I made for Siyalan with Google Earth shots. I got the coordinates from the Iranian maps. I will recheck the numbers for Alam Kooh.

Re: humm!

I had a flight to Urumie, these three seem visible Alamkooh comes out like a giant, then ShahAlborz and Siyalan where clearly visible even the naz&kahar are closer but they didn't show head, these 3 seem to be so tall. at last Sabalan with much more snow, then the plane gets down and all Sahands can bee seen. but the thing I liked was that mu uncle is a climber he showed me there where so many incredible mountains all much lower than Tochal but technical, they even had big glaciers remaining in summer.

Coordinates

I checked Google. Summitpost uses decimals while Google does it in Degrees, Minutes, Seconds. These numbers must be converted to decimals for summitpost, so change it back to what it was, will send you an e-mail.
