Face

Which face did you guys ski? The NW face scares me, but is so enticing at the same time.

Re: Face

We skied the West Face that day into Porter Fork. The line is north of "Cabin Run". I forget the name of the exact line, it was named after the guy that died there years ago in an avalanche. I would like to say it started with a D.

Alexzander Basin is steep as hell, and very hard to catch on a "stable" avalanche cycle. Although there are days where we have gone for it!

I am guessing you Backcountry ski? Judging by your username I take it you fish too? Let me know if you do any of the above activities...for we do each one....sometimes both at the same time!

Re: Face

Yes to fishing - haven't done much BC. Took that avy course at the U in the Geography dept, but never progressed past sidecountry runs. Been scouting out some lines this summer though, planning to do a lot of touring this year on AT & splitting. Would be down to do some low key touring (little water/BCC meadows) this year. Would like to get into more serious stuff but need to refresh the avy skills.
