Sky Pilots

Here on the barren wind swept landscape high on Forester Pass, the pale blue Polemonium eximium thrives. The common name of this delicate flower is 'sky pilot' aptly named for it only grows atop the highest peaks. Void of any other vegetation, these beautiful flowers welcomes weary visitors to their home. Forester Pass, 13,200', is the highest mountain pass on the PCT/JMT.
