Slippery When Wet

Slippery When Wet

The slabs on the bottom portion of the Whiteface Brook Slide are extremely slippery when wet. If you encounter such conditions, continue your bushwhacking ascent through the forest.

Thanks for posting this. I used this beta to finish the 46 via this route years ago. Shortly before exiting the ridge onto these lower slabs, I fell and came across what I thought was a Coke bottle. It turned out to be a glass insulator likely used on a cable strung on the mountain for the 1932 Olympic games. It just so turned out that these insulators are collectibles, and in good condition, my piece would have fetched well over $300. Not bad ....
