Slog, slog, slog  Sucess!

I wish I were in the area at the right time -- early May is way too early. I drove to within about a mile of the summer trailhead, and was on solid snow from the trailhead on. I carried crampons, but didn't need them, and even used snowshoes for part of the lower couloir. Trip report.

fun snow climb  Sucess!

Snow was soft in places but it wasn't as steep as I had expected. Great views and experience.

Snake.... and... bear  Sucess!

Climbed the Snake, in late season conditions, and the upper portion, was wet scree, which made for an interesting climb. Major rain and lighting storm on the way down, made the creek crossing almost impossible. saw a black bear, on the way out!! All in all it was a great day in the mountains!!

fun couloir  Sucess!

fun snow couloir, soloed from Blaine basin. The most difficult part was the direct rock climb finish at the top of the snow climb - 5.5 climbing in crampons, but there are easier options around.
