Snow covered cedar tree - Hempstead Kent

Snow covered cedar tree - Hempstead Kent

On Friday the 18th December various parts of the UK had snow. It might only be 4 or 6 inches in places but the UK authorities just cannot handle it. Our roads and rail networks all came to a standstill. Most schools where also closed. No matter where you go in most cases the snow looks good yet sadly down here where I live in Kent there are no mountains or hills to frame in the photos. This picture is a HDR format image of a large cedar tree in a front garden in the small Medway village of Hempstead.

Sweet!

Nice detail. Almost looks like a woodcut.

Re: Sweet!

Thank you for the comment. HDR is a great way of taking pictures and sometimes they are a bit unreal...!
Cheers - David.

Ouch

I love realistic hdr, but this treatment (probably the most common, unfortunately) hurts my eyes. Too much halo and cloud graying.

Re: Ouch

I will be honest, I agree with you...!
The problem was that I did not know enough as to change the light settings in the software as Photomatix was all new to me and sadly I deleted the other two exposures so I cannot give it another try.
Cheers - David.
