Snow Flowers

Saw lots of these Snow Flowers (Sarcodes sanguinea)all along the trail, these two were popping up near Wildman Meadow 6/10/06. These plants grow right after the snow melts, pushing up through the pine needles like a mushroom, feeding off decomposing plant life.
