Snow on Gash Point

Snow on Gash Point

The winter of 2007-08 dumped a more-than-usual amount of snow on the Bitterroot Mountains. This shot, taken high on the route to the summit of Gash Point, is evidence of that. As late as June 3rd, the day I took this picture, the non-drifted snow at this spot was 4' deep. Last year the snow was gone from this spot by mid-April. © Mike Hoyt, 3jun08.
