Sonklarspitze west pano

The cirque at ~3000m from where the normal routes start. Marked in red is the new one over the ridge, in blue is the old one through the couloir - see route description. The enormous cube mentioned in JoPo's SP-route-description is visible in the foreground. The 30cm of snowfall during the days before have not left much traces in the couloir. Taken 22/09/2007, 3 pm.

Correction

To my strong feeling, the best route (newer route, normal route) is not that given in red but is somewaht more right (almost to the right end of the pano and then toward left on the ridge).
I did not consider this route as bone-breaking.

I'd like to hope you're right in view of the bone-breaking passage.
However, I closely kept with the route description of Klier 2002 and followed the red markers cited there. One of them is visible in my image 341031, which you even have attached to your route description page (and I used that page as my 2nd pillar).
Apart from that, the upper half (the S-shaped part of my red line) was not bone-breaking but there was a good trace to follow, so I'm sure that I reached indeed the ridge at the right gap (the wrong gap which you mention in your route description is the one to the left of where my red line ends).
