South Kaibab to Bright Angel
Great hike. A little longer than South Kaibab to the river and back, but definitely easier.

Rim to River to Rim
Down to the river and back on South Kaibab. 5 hours round-trip. Cold 28 at 6 AM and very windy. The trail was frozen but no snow, making for good footing. This trails is getting worst by the day; I've been hiking it for years (four times down and two up) and I can say that it's condition is in need of a lot of attention. In fact, all of the trails going down into the Canyon are in a terrible shape. With over 5 million visitors a year at the Grand Canyon, I'd say that there would be enough money to fix these trails at least once every decade. There are a total of 30 miles going down into the canyon on the three main trails; how expensive can it be to maintain these trails?

going up it's a promise
I hiked this trail twice, both times downhill. I plan on going also uphill in 2016.

Kaibab-Angel loop with plateau point
Hiked the South Kaibab-Bright Angel loop with a detour via plateau point (adds one hour to the trip). Hit the trail at 6.15am, was back at the south rim by 2.30pm. Spent about an hour by the river.
The loop is a great alternative to the Bright Angel trail back and forth: it offers a great diversity of landscape. The descent via south Kaibab is particularly stunning, with great views of the river all along and a sense of depth that you don't find on the Bright Angel trail.

Many times
Hiked this trail many times over the years. I think that it is best to go in winter, and I have hiked the canyon 4 times in snowstorms.
Did as part of the 3 day backpacking with the family (wife, 13 y/o and 5 y/o sons). Hiked down South Kaibab and climbed back on Bright Angel Trail. Very beatiful.

Great hike
I started late, at 10.30 am, after getting a camping spot and backcountry permit for the next day on Indian Garden. Walked down to Tipoff and went up the same way.

Super views!
Did this trail twice. I love it because its so brutal. Plenty of heat and no water. The views are off the charts, and shade is a joke!

Day Round Trip: Down Bright Angel up Kaibab
I started early in the morning with 5 of my French Business Colleagues. Cold morning with the wind blowing but at the bottom short sleave weather. Left for the return up the Kaibab. Great way to do the day round trip. Slightly overcast made for perfect hiking weather. The Kaibab is spectacular!
