Beautiful day for a quick hike
Decided to finally go all the way to the top after stopping at the flag dozens of times. We parked at Blackridge reservoir and took the Blackridge trail to its highest point where we took off up the steep north face of the mountain. It was a pretty good workout going to the flag that way which is what we had hoped for as some preseason training. After reaching the flag it is a fairly easy hike to the top. The view up there is amazing and quite unique compared to other mountains I have climbed in the area. I highly recommend anyone who frequents the trails on this mountain take a trip to the summit.

2nd try success
loop from mouth of Rose Canyon (S Rose Canyon road) and following county line to water tank and down the steps of Step Mt. I tried last year from the described trailhead, but couldn't find it. Access seems to be rapidly changing.
14 November 2020: from "Blackridge Pond" trailhead.

Midnight Snowshoe
Fun little hike close to home. Plenty of snow the all the way and super windy up top. The views are fantastic, great hike to do at night. We took the dirt (?) road to the second ridge and went up and back down it.

Our round trip hike took us about 3 hours and 45 minutes. We climbed up the left ridge and came back down ridge one. It was very windy on top and about 48 F. No snow. Access to the trail head is a little tricky.

Wonderful View
Day after Thanksgiving. Very nice weather, about 50 F. No snow on the hike. This hike is very underrated. A beautiful view and you can see for miles in all directions. I want to do this hike again.

Beautiful day
We too went up one ridge and down the other. We also headed over to the summit of Black Ridge (6738) and then back, about 10 miles total.
I also went up one ridge and down another. I recommend this mountain for the great views of the Oquirrh and Wasatch Mountains. It was a clear day and I could see all the way from Ben Lomond to Mount Nebo. This hike is best done in winter or spring when the higher peaks are snow covered.

Before work
With Jun32 before work on a beautiful day. We took the further ridge going up and the other going down. It was steep and a little bushwhacky, but easy. There was a nice game trail on the way down. We enjoyed another fantastic dawn-patrol sunrise. On top in 46 minutes and into work just after 8:00 AM.
4/14/11- I had an hour and was in the area, so I ran up in 38 minutes. The fire really burned everything up there.
