This ridge was a hell of a way to spend part of a birthday! This ridge was the most exposed scramble I've done with the hardest cruxes I've seen without a rope, definitely a 5.2,-5.4 scramble in my opinion. It also snowed a bit right below Superior. It was a hell of a day!

When we reached the summit of Mt. Superior we encountered a surprise white out blizzard that forced to us to try and descend the mountain as timely and safely as possible. Because of this we never reached the summit of Monte Cristo. Anyways, tons of excellent climbing to enjoyed on this route. Can't wait to do it again in better conditions!

via Suicide Chute
Fun day to Superior and Monte Cristo. We picked up the ridge from Suicide Chute. Climbed with Joe and Shelly Bullough. Joe took us on a wild ride for the descent. He about took one the size of a football to the head. Really close!

Deep Powder!
fun climb with lots of exposure on knife-edge ridge. had to post-hole much of the way and it was often up our armpits so was slow going. made it about 3/4 of the way to the summit.

This is an aesthetic route. It's short and direct with fun scrambling and good views.

2nd time
The first time up I was in the winter with a friend and had a helmet cam that recorded most of the climb. It was the frist time using a helmet cam and I found a move my head a alot when looking around for holds(I got motion sickness after just 2min. of watching it). The 2nd time was solo. Even though it was in November it was like summer. I like it with snow covering the scree slopes a lot better. 4 hours car to car.

Really enjoyable except the part where I got AMS half-way up and almost barfed. Not sure what happened. But really fun climbing!!

WOW!
Exposure, sheer walls, knife edges, sketchy moves, dodgy scrambling, scenic summits and lots O’ adrenaline… this ridge has it all!
6/7/12- With Jun32 and Matt Van Horn. Awesome!

South Ridge Winter Ascent
What a change a season can make. The south ridge was swallowed in snow and cornices. It made the travel more tricky and more difficult to protect, but the atmosphere was even better than summertime. The snow gives the ridge a nice alpine feeling.

The Superior route to Superior
This may be my new favorite ridge of all time. On a scale of 1 to 10 I would give it an A+.
What a great ridge! very exposed and the most knife-edgy ridge I have been on. I went up with Justin Anderson (Gutloaf). We also went over to Monte Cristo.

Only the beginning
Brent, Anne, Dave, Lana and I did this great ridge to begin a trek around the Alta horn to the Snowbird tram. Other peaks crossed included Flagstaff, Honeycomb Cliffs, Wolverine, Tuscarora, Devil's Castle, Sugarloaf and Mt. Baldy. Long day, about 12 1/2 hours. Elevation gain was a minimum of 8,700 feet. With Lana, Christine and Judy did the ridge for the second time. Some residual snow on the north-facing aspects. #3 on 8-11-08 w/ Brent & Lana. A fine morning for just this activity, and the wild flowers' colors in the descent from Cardiff Pass were breathtaking. Time from parking space at Snowbird Entry 4 to top of Superior was 2+40. At least #5 4-24-12 w/ Dave via Suicide Chute. Lingering snow patches along the way.

Climbed South Ridge
Awesome solo scramble! Started from Snowbird Entry 4 and stuck to the ridge as close as possible. Made it to the top of Mt. Superior in 1 hr 46 minutes. Good rock, great weather, and nice views.
Fun scramble. I really like the environment and exposure of this ridge. There are many areas of high exposure, but the rock quality is great and there are plenty of work arounds. Sticking strictly to the ridge proper makes the ridge more challenging. I think I'd like it even more in the winter with the alpine feel. It was fun to meet Grizz as he worked the camera liked a climbing model. :-) Oh yes, the photos are coming!
Hooked up with Marauders and friends for an early AM hike on this superb ridge scramble. Matt says he captured 250+ images. This guy likes to take pictures. Maybe he'll post some to this page.
