Re: I wish...

I was infatuated with a woman and the Solidarity. I wish I hadn't.

Re: I wish...

You wish you weren't with both of them ? ;)

I know what you mean Jacek...it's going really not too bad now, I feel that with every day I am a bit closer to what I want to reach for...at least I believe it is so! heh !

"Twenty some" sounds great! :D

All the best

Re: I wish...

I can always remember to be grateful for what I have. It's not easy. Let's keep climbing.

Re: I wish...

A passion is OK as long as it's not unreasoning:). Mountains are more trustworthy than people, who like to make empty promises. Mts hardly ever speak but they stand by your side until you leave them.
Let's keep climbing and/or hiking.

Re: I wish...

Not sure what you're talking about. It would
be nice if we could jump into a time portal,
and have another GO at it.

Hey, we're ALL still young in terms of the
"geologic time scale."

Just keep on ... keeping on !!!! : )))

Larry,
Have you read the quotation I've placed by my green & gray (not anti-red though!!!) profile image?:)))

Re: I wish...

Please excuse me ... let me slip my reading
glasses over my head of very GRAY hair!

Okay, that's better. I think I understand now. (Is there a WAY to turn back the CLOCK?)

Re: That 's not Timp!

Please help, I was looking at the map it was not detailed enough. Even google map did not show more than Timp. in this area. There are few mountains together. The Timp summit is on the right side of the one on this photo. They are all connected.

Re: That 's not Timp!

I'm guessing that this looks like Elk Point which is part of the East Peak of Mount Timpanogos.

Re: That 's not Timp!

I revised my vote. Why are some people so
particular when it comes to names of mountains?

Some mountains have more than one peak, right?

Aranka? "Don't worry ... be HAPPY !!! : ))))

Re: That 's not Timp!

Isn't happiness all what we reach all our lives? Don't worry this will not take it away from me and I like to learn and always appreciate help. Thank you all.

Re: That 's not Timp!

To Byates,
What I personally don't like about this pic is that the image type only reads "Alpine climbing" while the serene scene belongs to the hiker's trove. The location, name and verbal description are normally important to me, however, while evaluating a picture I don't find them a prerequisite for a 10. BTW, Byates, I think these days only either 1 (dislike) or 10 (like), or no vote (don't care) makes sense. As to the shot itself, IMHO there are certainly better pix in ArankaP's (and lots of others here who care about photography much more than I do - I myself happen to care more about geography) gallery that didn't win POTD title but the electoral law is to blame for that, not any lucky fellow SP members.

Re: That 's not Timp!

To ArankaP,
I would actually question your thesis about happiness, being quite confident my philosophical skills are better than my climbing skills but I won't:-) since I'm grateful that your picture - as well as being pretty - inspired an interesting PASSIONate intercontinental debate:-)
Congratulations!

Thank you

to SP group. To me it does not matter which photo receive points and which does not. The most challenging and best climbs usually don't leave us with best photos. My father in Czech republic is extremely happy about SP. He is going through the photos every day from last week. He said: "Finally I don't have to copy all the photos from you on my hard drive and be worry to loose them. They are all here and nicely organized." I'm new on SP and still learning a lot but I like the set up and appreciate communication with you all.

Wrong rock type for Timp area.

I'm not able to zoom in enough on the rock to give a positive ID but it either granitic in nature or volcanic, all the rock on the Timp massive is sedimentary. The closet rock of that type is in the Lone Peak area 15 or so miles to the north. BTW though I gave this pick a low vote I did give a few of your photo's a 10. I really liked the Condor pic.
