Spring by Lake Solina

Spring by Lake Solina

Common Wood Sorrel (Oxalis acetosella - in Polish: Szczawik zajęczy) is a delicate perennial that can reach only 15 cm in height. It is common in lower sections of mountains in both coniferous and deciduous forests. Its leaves resemble the leaves of clover (Trifolium) and have a sour taste. Flowers of Wood Sorrel close in bad weather and for the night. Blossoms appear from April to May and sometimes again in autumn. The flowers are white with red veins and yellow spots.
