Stanley from Mt William

In early morning of June 14 1982, stubborn Argentine resistance on Mt Tumbledown finally broke and the troops retreated over this ground towards Moody Brook and Stanley, which can be clearly seen in the shot. Argentina formally surrendered its forces that evening. It's further than it looks and walking the same ground gave me ample time to reflect on the courage and sacrifice made by both sides, both of which believed implicitly in its cause. May the mistakes that led to this needless conflict never be made again.
