Start of Ridge to Mt Evans...

Start of Ridge to Mt Evans summit. From top of plateau area where Mt Spalding, and Sawtooth come together. This is NOT the route to take. I started climbing up these rocks and said to myself " This is class 3- I must be off route." I came back down to the cairn and then I saw where the trail went off and down to the right. Notice the small cairn in foreground- from there look down and to the right for the next cairn as the trail actually descends a bit from this point. July 25, 2003
