Steed for the Day

Steed for the Day

Wilderness Systems Pungo 120, 12' and 50 lbs. As you can imagine, it's not too maneuverable in rapids and tight spots, but it can handle Class 3 water and tracks well in open water. It has plenty of storage and is very comfortable and makes an excellent choice for a long day on the water. Here, it is beached by the Potomac River where I got out to play a little on some crags in Mather Gorge. Great Falls, MD-- August 2010

Hard at it....

Hard at work, are you, Bob? Looks appropriately, nicely, lazy-ish! (Wish I was there to share the effort...)

Re: Hard at it....

Just a different kind of workout, Vernon...

It's pretty good exercise for the arms paddling upstream in a strong current, and when I go downstream, I stow a wheeled cart and then pull/hike back to the car.

But the mountains it ain't, alas.

I forget-- have I told you my specific Glacier dates for July?
