Steele Pass Road Narrows

About 50 feet past the section shown here, a hard right puts you at the start of this narrow passage. You can see how people have built up the approach to the step in the foreground, but you can't see all the deep scrapes in the bedrock where they have dragged the underside of their vehicles across the stone. The passage just beyond would be challenging in a small Jeep, and might be impossible without significant body damage in larger vehicles. November 14, 2010.
