True the north side is vertical but I didn't see the trail approaching it that closely to be a concern for hikers. While on the summit, on the other hand, there is fall potential, but the summit is not unlike other Cascades peaks. I don't want to scare people away from climbing beloved Stillaguamish.

I haven't been up Dickerman so can't comment on that one.

you're right, I guess that was Dickerman where a couple of Forest Service volunteers died on a training/introduction hike.

Roads and Trailheads

The Mountain Loop Highway is now open all the way around.

The Perry Creek trail head has moved. The Perry Creek road is closed. The Dickerman trail head now serves both trails. There is a connector trail from that trail head over to a small stretch of the old road and then onto the old trail.

Re: Roads and Trailheads

I heard about that new trail. Thanks for reminding me I have some updating to do.

Now, with the Dickerman trailhead serving both, the thieves now will have twice as many cars to "service." I don't think they made it up to the old Perry Creek trailhead very often. Not to mention the Forest Disservice fee nazis.
