I had planned to aid lead, but my partner (Now ex-girlfriend) decided she didn't want to climb. She recruited a random guy on the trail who said he was comfortable leading 12's, fit in her shoes, and he wanted to lead the climb? Fine with me. He fell on the second or third piece and decided to French free the rest of the route. That's was still some great climbing for him. I jugged up and cleaned. (and carried the rope and rack both ways..)
