Sunrise from String Lake

5:43am on June 9, 2013 from String Lake's outlet stream... right next to the long beam bridge literally a one minute walk from the parking lot. My daughter and I arrived at the lot at 4:40am and learned a hard lesson, one that I actually feared would happen. The lesson is quite simple - scope out the area in daylight first lest you walk around in the dark looking for what you think you want while cursing that you should have scoped out the area in daylight first! In the dark nothing looks like what you think you saw on Google Earth and you may (will!) hike for an hour to realize that you should have just stayed near the car. Pentax K5II.
