Sunset from Font's Point, Anza Borrego Desert State Park

Font's Point in Anza Borrego Desert State Park, CA offers a vantage point for a rewarding sunset view. It can be accessed as part of a 2.6 mile unmarked loop hiking trail that also takes in Inspiration Point, or by a very short trail from a parking lot about 100 yards below the point. Regardless, the three mile (for the loop hike)/four mile (for the parking lot) drive out is in a very deep, sandy wash. Four wheel drive is strongly recommended, remain on the obvious route everyone else has used, and avoid stopping in deep sand. Imaged in December 2014.
