This area really reminds me of the ridge and valley region of northeastern Alabama. Only instead of sandstone, the peaks there are composed mainly of limestone.

Not so much a summit as a destination. The Italians would poo-poo this one, but it makes a fine page.



A note about your route. As an AT hiker, I must tell you that there is no such thing as AT-East. The Trail goes north and south even if it is actually heading some other direction. In NJ there is a long stretch where "north" on the trail actually takes you south-east.

Hey Charles! Sorry about the route name mishap. I totally wasn't thinking about other than the actual direction. I've fixed it though. Nice view over the river. You have lots of shades of blue in the pix. Mtn. for Grounhog Day-6 more weeks of winter.
