Low snow year
Nice climb up Dromedary in one of the lowest snow years on record. Other than the 1/4 mile bushwhack to the gulch itself, the route had plenty of snow except for a couple stretches of rock that were tough to negotiate in crampons. Warm sun started to turn snow to slush by about 11:00 so i was glad I got an early start. I didn't like the runout so I didn't glissade much. Didn't see another soul even though it was Saturday.

Virgin in crampons
I was with my friend Curt and we were both using our crampons for the first time. We practiced various ascending techniques as we climbed all the way to the top. We had an amazing glissade all the way down and I was hooked on Spring mountaineering in the Wasatch.
Been back a few times after that, but it never did get my heart beating quite like the first time.

Great Climb
Nice climb. We had perfect hard consolidated snow which made for a really fun climb.

Skied it solo
Have scrambled the east branch in summer (not recommended, use the south face) to summit Dromedary, and climbed it twice in spring: once May 4, '08 for the triple traverse (in which I did not quite summit Dromedary because I got behind the group with gear trouble), and then a week later climbed most of the way up, hit my turnaround time (had an afternoon commitment) and skied down.

Tanner's Gulch
The best route to climb Dromedary Peak. Steep, fast and fun. Best to climb in spring with stable snow. The glissade down is a riot!
