Tara saved

With the breath of huge relief there is good news to announce for the beauty of Monte Negro and Europe in general; the Tara river. The idea to make a dam which would turn the happy emerald Tara into the static lake was abandoned! Huge ecological campaign called I want Tara not a swamp gave results! Tara has the deepest European canyon and together with Durmitor is on UNESCO's World Heritage protection list so the idea of energy lobbies was even more insulting. To strengthen the protection for the times to come there is now the idea to merge the Durmitor – Tara national park with Sutjeska national park, which is in neighboring Bosnia and Herzegovina.
