Teflon?

I have never seen such a deposit on granite before - note the darker tan surfaces that seem to glisten. They have a texture of teflon IMHO - pretty incredible stuff. "Backside" (east) of Daff Dome (Sept. 2, 2006).

fine example...

of glacial polish. the first time i encountered this was walking up pothole dome and seeing(and slipping)on the polished potholes. this stuff is all over tuolumne, pretty cool
