Re: beautiful looking line

Dow, no plans for SW till April but who knows...rain might drive us insane :)
Have fun in J-tree & report back on how you liked it (curious & never been!).

Re: beautiful looking line

The rock is of exceptional quality...gives you much better feet then I am use to for sure. The hardened granite texture that gives you the better feet can be a bit rough on the fingers though, but then we did over 10 routes on Tuesday ranging from 5.7-5.11b and that was probably a bit much for anyone's fingers I suppose. Backed off into real pleasant 5.9-10 cracks on Wed. The J-trees themselves are twice as tall/large as any I had ever seen before. Don't camp at the Mt Ryan spot if you can remember that, they allow RV's there and when it is a bit cold (thick frost Mon night), they will run their generators all night. That campsite was packed on Mon too..way too many folks, dogs, etc. Hidden Valley camping looked much better and much more private I thought. Did several nice cracks so far I can recommend, Exorcist 5.10a, Touch and Go 5.9, Popes Crack 5.9 and Illusion Dweller, 5.10b. Good stuff Radek. Cheers.

Re: beautiful looking line

thanks Dow. sounds good! I guess JTree has one serious drawback in our book (=reason we never made it there): it's too damn close to RR! In other words, if we're going to make the long trip, most of the time we'd rather do some multi-pitch...but then there are always these rain days in Red Rocks & Jtree is a nice back up to keep in mind. Appreciate the recommends & the camping beta. cheers.
