The Battlefields on the Approach to Stanley

Taken from the south ridge of Mt Kent looking east towards Stanley. All this ground was the scene of fierce fighting between opposing Argentine and British forces in May and June 1982. From left to right: Mt Longdon, the SW aspect of Two Sisters, the long ridge of Mt Tumbledown and Mt Harriet. Mt Challenger between the camera and Mt Harriet. Stanley harbour, 25 km to the east, can just be seen on the far right hand.
