The Famous "Million Dollar Bridge"- Chugach Range

The Famous "Miilion Dollar Bridge", with its repaired span, on a lovely late afternoon (about 7 PM) in July, 2007. This bridge was opened in 1910 to facilitate the movement of copper ore from Kennicott (Wrangell-St. Elias Mountains) to Cordova, on Prince William Sound. It was abandoned in 1938, damaged by the Great Earthquake of 1964, and recently repaired. It is currently the terminus of the Copper River Road.
