Hiked up Profile Trail and camped up on the ridge. The next morning we up to Calloway Peak, then out to Attic Window and MacRae Peak before heading back down Profile Trail. Beautiful views. Both trails were pretty steep, but Grandfather Mountain Trail was rugged enough that it would have been pretty difficult with backpacks. The best views were from MacRae Peak, and the scrambling on the traverse was very enjoyable.

The Trifecta!
Climbed all three peaks on Grandfather Mountain starting from the Profile Trail on a beautiful day! This is a very fun hike. The scrambling between Attic Window and MacRae is a blast.
