The infamous log crossing...

The infamous log crossing over the treacherous Cascade River on the path up to Eldorado Peak. I am preparing to head back over after a long hike down. This was the crux of the climb! June 16, 2003.

New river crossing for Eldorado Peak

This log crossing no longer exists (after rainstorms last fall). The river flow has been scoured quite a bit. The current most feasible crossing is now as follows (use at own risk and don't assume it'll last forever; it won't):
