Glad that you like the page Myles. Johnnie done most of the work, I just added a bit at the end. Not the most famous Island here in Scotland, but still a very good one!
Stephen
A fine starting point for any who are looking at a very interesting piece of Scotland. There are so many other interesting ways to get up Goatfell than the main path - a freeway/motorway - and you can start getting some of the ideas from the information provided here
Real thorough job. Arran is a place I've much visited and loved. My pics are slides from some years ago, so when I get them digitised, I'll post to the Site.
Hi Raymondo,
the Arran page is a bit limited to the main mountaineering area.
If you have any photos of other areas it would be good, but any images are welcome.
thanks Johnnie
Mine are also Glen Sannox, Glen Rosa, though I'll work on this over the winter, and let you know when posted. Cheers, Ray
And I want to make it to Suillven one day, and also bike on the Hebrides. I was all set many years ago, then my stove failed and had to retreat. http://locksparkfarm.files.wordpress.com/2008/10/suillven-reduced.jpg
We also wanted to have a look at Suilven this year when we went up to Scotland in June (see trip report) but after Liathach and An Teallach we ran out of days, maybe next year?
I'd love to climb it too. Keep me in mind, and maybe we could meet up for the ascent next year. Griff Rhys Jone's TV spot, Mountain, brought back that ambition.
Glad the info was helpful, much credit goes to Boydie for that.
I guess you don't get midges in the States but I hear that your mosquitos can be vicious too.
cheers Johnnie
Thanks Charles,
Arran is a brilliant place to visit, so glad you enjoyed your trip there. Have you been to Skye too? that is also a special Northern Island.
cheers Johnnie
I used to really enjoy getting on the ferry at Kyle, it was a clear break with the mainland for a voyage to an enchanted place. It's not the same now with the bridge.
But! at least the tolls have been removed.
cheers Johnnie
Some very good work here on what is known so much as Scotland In Miniture. This is an island I have wished to visit many times but work whenever I was in Scotland got in the way.
One day I shall get there till then I will look at your photos and think if only I was there. LOL...!
Thanks daveyboy,
I cannot take all the credit, Boydie and Myles also added valuable contributions.
I hope you manage to get there one day I'm sure you will have a great time.
cheers Johnnie
I noticed you had all added information to the page.
Its just a shame that page I added about the Breidden Hills in Wales never made the front.
Keep up the good work when you are ready for your next page.
yes, I decided to go through all my pages to make sure that they were up to date (e.g. 2011 Folk Test on Arran) and that all the links still work or need replacing with alternatives.
I must have missed your Breidden Hills page when you published it. It is a really fine page I haven't a clue how the Elves pick the selections to put on the front page. It might be worth sending them a note?

Re: Fine starting point for would-be GoatfellersIt's a great Island and fairly quiet compared to highland hotspots like Glencoe and Sligachan.
