I enjoyed reading this so much. My first summer of mountaineering was in 2012, and it was also in the Tetons. The Grand via OS was a huge goal of mine; one in which my reach probably should have exceeded my grasp. But due to amazing partners and fortuitous circumstances, I too stood on the summit (after an underwhelming class 5 section!) with unparalleled pride and gratitude. Your trip report (with a significantly more meaningful and arduous backstory) helped me relive my own journey. Thank you for that.
I also appreciate the book recommendation. I've learned a lot from Mark Twight's Extreme Alpinism, but this seems even more comprehensive. I can't wait to dive in.
Good luck with all future endeavors, and may they occasionally be accompanied by another great TR!
