One of the great viewsis this view up the Lostine Valley. I loved this hike, truly one of my favorites in 2003. It had rained the night before and as a result the trail was soft and devoid of dust. On the way out however, we had to deal with a lot of horse crap which made watching where you stepped kind of a ballerina act.

I remember that the summit has this spectacular 360 deg. mountain panorama.

it's not a bad place even in winter (watch the avies though!!) - you can definitely get in easily thru. Wallowa Lk. TH out of Joseph.....just an idea :)
