The most beautiful and most famous view of Spik (2472m) and its 1000 meters high north face is from the bridge over Sava river in Gozd Martuljek village, 3 kilometers east of Kranjska Gora resort. Two peaks on the left are Visoki Oltar (2621m) and Visoka Ponca (2602m). Because of the wilderness of the Martuljek group there are no paths to any of the peaks, from this side. The only marked path reaches the Bivak pod Spikom (Bivouac under Spik, 1442m) at the foothills of its north face. Late May 1993.
