The northern ravines of Vajnez

The northern ravines of Vajnez

From the NW fore-summit of Kosiak/Kozjak we have a better view into the nothern slope of Vajnež than from the main summit. While from Baerental / Medvedji dol the usual approach on Vajnež goes by the screes on the left, in spring the ravines seen here right of the main summit are also promising. First, they lead more directly on top and secondly, they might be something a bit new. The rigthmost ravine looks overgrown from here, but from the W ridge it looked very fine, reaching almost to the ridge (the last passage is steep). The central ravine looks steep on top, so perhaps for skiing it is difficult, but may be interesting for a usual winter climb. September 3rd, 2011.
