The Old Lookout

Abandoned now and sadly but predictably marred by graffiti, the old fire lookout marks the approximate halfway point of the short but steep north ridge route. It is just a short distance from where the climber's trail from the parking area gains the ridge and makes a good rest stop. Windows are gone and the roof is not intact, but the lookout would make a better shelter than none in a bad storm. There is even a register inside! Glacier National Park, MT-- July 2011
