The Pine Sisters

The Pine Sisters

Scots Pine (Pinus sylvestris) is an evergreen tree native to Europe and parts of Asia. In Poland it is common in all mountainous regions. A singular scots pine growing in an open terrain is always shorter than the ones growing within the forests and its height does not exceed 15-20 meters. These trees can be very attractive when mature. Photo taken in the Low Beskid - Mount Woltuszowska - June 2007.

Great photographs ...

Hello, I reside in Arizona. I've always read about Poland in history books, but never had seen it in person. It is so beautiful! Such a WONDERFUL country!

We have Ponderosa Pine trees where I live, also known as (Pinus ponderosa). Further UP in the mountains grows Douglas Fir or (Pseudotsuga menziesii), ALSO a member of the pine family. I love your photos - CHEERS !!!

Re: Great photographs ...

Thank you for your nice comment about my photos. I'm glad that they helped you get to know my country. My wife and I have visited your beautiful state twice. We especially remember the breathtaking Grand Canyon. We found the Meteor Crater very interesting also. Regards, Henryk.
