I just climbed Ragged Edge myself, so the beta is fresh in my mind. I noticed the approach as shown on your map is not ideal. The easiest way to get to the col is to follow the hikers' trail up to ~5760'. There should be a nice shelf/ledge that you can start traversing climber's right on. Following the ledge will bring you to right above the col to get onto the heather ledge to obtain the base of the climb.
