Lots of nubbins to hang on toAppears to quite volcanic in nature but solely from the moniker "Galatian Range" I am left to guess it is probably in the west somewhere, possibly a higher outpost on the big island of Hawaii. Who knows? I also see no resemblance to a tombstone--don't get that one very well. Nice shot, 10/10

Re: Lots of nubbins to hang on toI'm terrible on geology, but I've always assumed the rock here is breccia - very common in the Absarokas on the eastern side of the park. The stuff in the east is pretty unstable - see Sihler's Cutoff Mountain page for an exception.

Re: Lots of nubbins to hang on toYeah, ok, fair enough---but where is the Galatian Range? I'm sure i could find out if I read on but thought I'd ask. I try to guess at these things by looking for clues--like flora associated with the mountain or say, a highway sign or rock type of course. thanks
