The Sorcerer - Pitch 4
This is the start of the last pitch of "The Sorcerer" (grade 5). The pitch makes an outrageous traverse out from a belay cave, and then climbs dead vertical ice for about 40 metres - steep and sustained. Unfortunately, the belayer can't see the leader for the entire pitch (except for the starting traverse). (climber: G. Cutforth, photo: A. Jones)
