Re: Freds Mountain...?Actually it's from before Mr. Beckey's time (if there is such a thing) and is an appellation attributable to Lage Wernstedt (that is my recollection, anyway). Wernstedt named many of the peaks in the North Cascades and especially the Pasayten. Harry Majors knows the answer for sure. In my documents from Harry the following are known:
Lage's son's name was Frederick Lago Wernstedt.
But Freds Mountain is not labeled on Lage's 1924-25 field map, although nearby Peepsight Mountain is labeled.
Lage married Adelie "Dot/Dottie" Wilcox (our Dot Mountain) in 1919, so Frederick may not have been born by 1925.
There is also a Freds Lake (son) and Lake Doris (daughter) near Osceola Peak.
